DENISON, TX – Texoma FC is happy to announce the addition of former USL Championship MVP and Texoma FC player Solomon Asante to the Texoma FC technical staff as an assistant coach. Asante played for Texoma FC in USL League One this past year, recording four goals and one assist.
Asante expressed his excitement for the role, saying, “My life in soccer has taken me from Ghana, Congo, Arizona, Indiana, Nevada, and Texas. My career has taught me the technical nuances of the game and its power to unite. I am now eager to channel my experience into a coaching role, contributing as a dedicated mentor for this club.”
Asante joined Texoma FC in February of this year, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to Los Pájaros’ inaugural squad. Prior to arriving in Texoma, he enjoyed an outstanding career in the USL Championship, featuring for clubs such as Las Vegas Lights, Indy Eleven, and Phoenix Rising FC. Across 205 USL Championship appearances, Asante recorded 57 goals and 63 assists, establishing himself as one of the league’s most consistent forwards. A fan favorite within the Texoma community, Asante looks forward to passing on his extensive knowledge and helping inspire the next generation of soccer players in the region.
“We’re incredibly excited to welcome Solomon Asante back to Texoma FC in this new role,” said Head Coach Ben Clarvis. “He’s a USL legend who brought professionalism, leadership, and a winning mentality every day as a player. His experience at the highest levels of the league and his understanding of what it takes to succeed will be invaluable to our locker room and staff. Having someone who knows the club and commands respect step into an assistant coaching role strengthens everything we’re building here.”
Asante brings a decorated background, highlighted by Western Conference and regular-season titles with Phoenix Rising and a 2012 Burkinabé Premier League championship with ASFA Yennenga. In addition, he is a two-time, back-to-back USL Championship MVP (2019–20) and was named Ghanaian Player of the Year in 2017.
“I believe soccer is a vehicle for teaching essential skills — teamwork, discipline, and resilience,” said Asante. “My goal is to foster an inclusive environment where everyone thrives. I’m confident that my background, in partnership with the other coaching staff, will allow us to achieve success and build a strong team.”
Texoma FC will kick off in USL League Two in May 2026 at Munson Stadium in Denison, TX. Season Tickets are on sale now starting at $75.
Asante expressed his gratitude to the Texoma community, saying, “The owners, staff, and fans have been incredible, and I am looking forward to getting started.”
